This was a fun scene to script. Ken is a character I'd like to do a bit more with. The person he's based on is very much a unique character, and I'd like to convey that more in the writing.     Those don’t actually have nicotine in them. It’s nicotinic acid, which is another name for Niacin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotinic_acid#History

      Interesting. I’ll confess, I used to drink the stuff and one day took the time to read the katakana and sounded out the word “ni-ko-chin” and promptly quit. Many of my english teaching friends agreed with my assessment of Ripobitan D. It appears this is just an urban legend. I think the dialogue still fits, it just means poor Kiff is as uninformed as I was. Thanks for clearing this up.
